Expanded Health gladly accepts students. We have been teaching components of regular nursing for over ten years and advanced practice nurses for 4 years. We traveled around the world teaching advanced practice nurses useful primary care/urgent care skills. We no longer travel to host skills workshops, instead we provide students the opportunity to learn at the bedside in our very own clinic.
Clinical rotations and practicums are designed for you to put your knowledge into practice or as we call it, bridging the gap between theory and practice. Expanded Health provides students with real life scenarios and hands on experience. Advanced practice nurses will not only learn skills but also be coached into how to start their very own practice, manage their time, and explore different career paths. Students can also expect to receive real time feedback, formal assessments, and education in a range of clinical experiences to meet their course objectives.
1. Put theory into practice 2. Time managment coaching 3. Formal assessments, mentoring, and clinical guidance 4. Learn how to suture (4 techiniques taught through one on one instruction) 5. Learn how to do joint injections (knee shoulder, wrist, and foot.) 6. Learn how to do occipital nerve blocks and incision and drainage of an abscess. 7. Assess and treat patient from 18 months-69 years * All skills will be taught by your preceptor on maniquins and willing patients after waivers and disclosure signed.* Check out our past skills workshop for students.
